Do you support the Devonport Claystore Community Workshop being sold?

Devonport's historic Claystore building, home to the Devonport Community Workshop, faces an uncertain future as Auckland Council is considering selling the property for it to be repurposed.

Originally part of the Auckland Gas and Fire Brick Company works, the Claystore has served as a community workshop since 1986, offering woodworking and metalworking facilities to locals.

The Devonport-Takapuna Local Board is now exploring the option of selling the Claystore, with discussions underway about possibly relocating its activities to a safer location.

In light of this, Devonport-Takapuna Local Board chair Mel Powell has suggested the site could be repurposed as a "bar with heritage features".

Is this the best future for a cherished community asset?
