C&R Proudly Announces Tabetha Elliott as Councillor Candidate for Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Ward

C&R (Communities and Residents) is proud to announce dedicated community advocate, educator, and local resident Tabetha Elliott as their candidate for the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Ward.

With a strong background in governance, business leadership, and grassroots community involvement, Tabetha is standing to ensure local voices are heard and that Auckland Council returns to focusing on core services that matter to everyday residents.

Tabetha lives in Mount Wellington with her husband and their three sons, and teaches at Stanhope Road School. As a parent and educator, she brings both professional and personal insight into the needs of local families, making her a strong and relatable voice for the community. She holds a Master’s degree in Business and brings extensive commercial experience from her former role as a General Manager.

Her governance experience includes board roles with Sport Auckland, Te Karaka Trust, Girls’ Brigade New Zealand, and the Mount Wellington Charitable Trust. A previously elected Local Board Member and a current serving Justice of the Peace, she understands the complexity of Council operations and how to get results for the community. She regularly volunteers her time as a JP in local libraries.

“I’m passionate about supporting youth and making sure our community assets—especially parks, playgrounds, and infrastructure, are maintained and invested in properly,” says Tabetha. “It’s time for Council to get back to basics; delivering the essential services our communities rely on,That means protecting weekly rubbish collections, maintaining our roads, managing rates responsibly, and ensuring every dollar is spent with transparency and accountability. Roads, rates, and rubbish should be the priority, before anything else.

Tabetha Elliott is committed to strong, responsible leadership that puts the community first and ensures a thriving, well-served future for Maungakiekie-Tāmaki.
