Auckland — Communities & Residents (C&R) is proud to announce a dynamic new team to stand in the upcoming local elections: Malcolm Turner for Auckland Council representing the Manukau Ward and Chris Latham for the Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board.
With deep local roots and a commitment to delivering results, both candidates are passionate about building a cleaner, safer, and more connected South Auckland.
Chris Latham, a respected educator at Papatoetoe High School, is known for his work in the heart of the community.
“Papatoetoe is rich in diversity and strength. I’m committed to putting residents first — focusing on safety, infrastructure, and supporting small businesses,” said Latham. “I want to see families feeling safe, streets well-maintained, and local voices heard.”
Malcolm Turner, who has lived in the Manukau Ward for nearly 30 years, is standing to bring meaningful change and authentic representation.
“Our communities deserve more than just maintenance; they deserve progress. As someone born in Samoa and raised here and in Asia, I’ve seen how powerful it is when people connect beyond assumptions,” Turner said. “It’s time to clean up our streets, restore pride, and lead with empathy and action.”
C&R is backing both candidates as part of its commitment to practical, community-focused leadership — centred on low rates, clean streets, safer neighbourhoods, and restoring weekly rubbish collection.
Vote Malcolm Turner and Chris Latham. Vote C&R — for a better South Auckland
